Crazed Gorilla Glass enthusiast uses his HTC One X as a hammer

first_imgThere are few things that make us cringe here at Geek.com, but one of them is witnessing people abusing their electronics in ways that defy logic. Here’s a particularly egregious one: a Russian gentleman who is showing off the strength of the Gorilla Glass that his HTC One X phone uses. While it’s incredible that the screen can handle such punishment, it’s still enough to make us shed a tear at the possibility of marring such a beautiful piece of technology. Aren’t their enough videos on YouTube showing off just how tough Gorilla Glass is?If you’re unfamiliar with Gorilla Glass, the super-strong mobile screen covering is a product of Corning. It goes through a special process to be able to withstand the wear-and-tear that devices go through on a daily basis, as well as standing up under, um, extraordinary circumstances. As shown in the video above, the glass is able to withstand the impact of a nail head without causing any damage the display, the case, or the multitouch capabilities. If we worked for HTC’s marketing department, we would be jumping onto this video as proof of how much punishment the device can actually take.  This has to be one of the best stress tests we have seen a mobile phone go through, the fact that the guy in the video is putting all of his strength behind his phone to drive the nails home is pretty amazing. (This is, of course, assuming that this video itself isn’t a marketing attempt by HTC, Corning, or an associated company.)via Android.gslast_img
