Central African Republic President Receives Omar Hilale

Rabat – The President of the Central African Republic, Faustin Archange Touadéra, received Wednesday in Bangui, Omar Hilale, Morocco’s permanent representative to the United Nations and Chair of the Central African Republic (CAR) Configuration of the Peacebuilding Commission.On this occasion, Hilale informed President Touadéra of the actions taken by the CAR Configuration of the Peacebuilding Commission to keep the situation in the country on top of the UN’s priorities in New York and to mobilize the international community, both at the political and financial levels, to end the crisis in this country and fund its economic projects, judicial reforms, national reconciliation and the establishment of human rights’ national mechanisms.Ambassador Hilale recalled Morocco’s efforts to assist the Central African Republic, including the support of several government departments. For his part, President Touadéra asked Hilale to convey to king Mohammed VI his fraternal greetings and thanks for Morocco’s constant support to the Central African Republic before, during and after the country’s crisis.In this regard, he expressed his deep gratitude to Morocco for the support and solidarity actions in favor of his country, including the financial contribution to the electoral process and the construction of 100 social housing units.The President also informed Hilale of the decision of his government to grant Morocco’s carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) permanent exemption as part of the distinguished brotherly relations between the two countries.
